Catholic Charities closed the doors to the Wausau Community Warming Center on April 15, 2013. We are planning to re-open our doors on November 1, 2013. Our season will run from November 1 through March 31, 2014. Many volunteers will once again be needed to have a successful year. As a reminder, volunteer opportunities are listed below. EVENT COORDINATOR
Do you have an organization that would like to sponsor one of the nights. Please contact Diane for suggestions and more information on how we can customize this to your group. Our goal is to have an organization or church coordinate each
night of the week.
INTAKE VOLUNTEER
Welcome and check in guests. Process guests belongings. Shift runs from 8:45-10:00 pm.
OVERNIGHT VOLUNTEER
Helps create a warm and dignified environment where one is able to get help meeting their basic
needs of food, shelter and connection to a greater, caring community.
Shift One - 9:30 pm - 2:00 am
Shift Two - 2:00 am - 7:00 am
FOOD PROVIDER
The Food Provider volunteer has the important task of helping meet the need for healthy food by providing guests with a modest, hot evening meal and to-go breakfast items. Food needs to be delivered to the Warming Center between 8:30 & 9:00 pm. |
